Having just received a disc of photos of our latest wedding cake collection from my photographer, I am so excited I have to put some on my blog until my web lady can upload them! I will keep the new wedding cakes a secret but take a look at our new miniature cakes; perfect as an alternative to a traditional wedding cake, ideal as favours and gifts and a chic addition to any modern wedding.

Cakes BlogDecember 17, 2010September 13, 2010Piped detail wedding cakeA very lovely evening spent in Herefordshire at the wedding of Fay and Mark. And what a do it was! A beautiful service in Ledbury Cathedral followed by a lovely marquee reception complete with Morrocan tents, stunning flowers and amazing food. I am still recovering from the delicious canapes, three course meal and hog roast. We were asked to do the wedding cake and even though I say so myself, I have to say that I thought it looked absolutely stunning. It was a traditional ivory wedding cake with white piped detail taken from the lace on the bride and bridesmaid’s dresses and a stunning wide aqua ribbon. We made the tiers extra deep to incorporate the beautiful satin ribbon and the piping-beautiful! Fay is an artist and you could really tell with the amazing attention to detail from the message tree, to the aqua blue colour scheme and through to all the amazing dresses made by Fay’s mum. Going to all these lovely weddings really inspires me with my designs so thank you so much Fay and Mark for a fabulous day and lots of ideas.

Anyway, my current obsession is with cake stands. I would happily display them throughout my house, studio and any spare space I could find. They are the perfect way to show off cupcakes, miniature cakes or as a display stand for a much bigger wedding cake (as per the stunning Spring daffodil wedding cake below) So here is the pick of my favourite cake stands all available at http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/
And my favourite, albeit it the most expensive: If these are a little out of your price range, I bought a beautiful vintage looking glass cake stand for only £10 from Ikea. Perfect and you’d never know how much of a bargain it was!
