Fresh flower wedding cake

We were asked to make a fruit cake for a wedding taking place in Greece by a lovely bride called Kirsty.  She wanted to decorate the wedding cake simply with fresh white roses on the day. We made a rum and brandy soaked three tier fruit cake which was to be driven from London to Zermatt and on to a Greek island. I wouldn’t ordinarily include such a simple cake on the blog but I just thought that it was really elegant with the fresh white roses sitting in posy picks and is a really cost effective way to decorate a wedding cake in these times of austerity!

Recent wedding cake

This is one of my favourite cakes of the wedding season so far. It was made for the lovely Chris and Michaella’s April wedding which took place at the Medicine Garden in Cobham, Surrey. This is a beautiful venue in a walled garden which coupled with a stunning marquee made for the most beautiful country wedding setting. The colour scheme was dusky pink and sage green which we replicated in the ribbon colour on the cake. I love love love it!

White wedding cake

Just had a nice simple photo back of one of our wedding cakes shot for a magazine and since it was so nicely photographed, I thought I’d share it with you. It is perfect for a white wedding and would work really nicely alongside some lovely wedding cookies and some amazing floral designs by Kat from Roseberg Flowers of Copenhagen.
